The Myths and Truths about Fat Loss with Laura Schoenfeld, RD
Do you know the real myths and truths about fat loss?
If your recent attempts at fat loss have resulted in negative physical results, you may not understand exactly what your body truly needs. Over the past several decades, so much information about health has been short-sided and generalized to the point that our current common knowledge base on nutrition may actually be harming our bodies’ systems and prohibiting weight loss or healthy lifestyles.
According to today’s guest, Laura Schoenfeld, “one of the biggest challenges women face in any area of their life that they’re struggling [with] is mindset blocks that are preventing them from taking action in a way that would allow them to see results”. Schoenfeld further explains that we have false beliefs about behavior, which can be objective mindsets, but we also have subjective beliefs about who we are. To get healthier, BOTH areas of our lives must be addressed.
Today’s episode goes into so much detail on how to get healthier from an entire mindset perspective first and then the specific details of your individual health needs second.
Today’s Speaker: Laura Schoenfeld
Laura Schoenfeld (SHOW-IN-FELD) is a Registered Dietitian, coach, and women’s health expert trained in Functional Medical nutrition therapy. Her passion is empowering women to nourish their bodies, develop true strength, and ultimately pursue their purpose. Laura guides her clients in identifying and implementing diet and lifestyle changes that allow them to live a healthy, fit, symptom-free life without being consumed by thoughts of food and exercise. She draws from a variety of sources to form her philosophy on nutrition, including ancestral diets, principles of biochemistry, current research, and clinical experience.
Recognizing that health goes way beyond diet and exercise, she teaches her clients how to focus on and implement life-changing mental and spiritual health habits as well. Her greatest mission is to help women realize they are more than a body, so they can move past health obsession, and focus on pursuing the purpose they were created for. When she’s not educating and serving her coaching clients and community, Laura loves traveling with her husband, Sundays with her church family, hikes with her dog, beach trips, live music, and heavy weight training
